PURPOSE:
A student-centered community service group giving fifth grade students:
-an opportunity to participate in citizenship activities within the school and around the
community.
-a time to develop healthy social skills while having fun working together.
-opportunities for leadership and responsibility.
REQUIREMENTS:
Students must choose at least two activities to participate in throughout the course of the school year.
They may participate in one of two ways: one school activity and one community service project, OR two community service projects. Students may participate in more activities than the required ones if desired and are able to.

Turkey Trot (November)-supports Brunswick families in need
Valentines for Vets (February)-supports current and inactive service members
Pennies for Patients (April)-supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
In addition to the annual activites listed above, there are always several opportunities that present themselves throughout the year that students may participate in.
In the past, some examples included: cannned food drives, purchasing Christmas gifts for needy families in our area, raking leaves for elderly residents in the Huntington community, raising funds to donate to the children of Haiti who were affected by the earthquake (UNICEF), adopting an animal in need, and assisting PTO in a Spring Garden Party (weed, mulch, clean Huntington School grounds).
RECOGNITION:
As a special reminder of their hard work, each Project Support member who completes the requirements will receive a certificate, an award, and be recognized at the Fifth Grade Graduation Ceremony on the last day of school!
