The Child Cannot Wait

“Many things we need can wait. The child cannot. Now is the time his bones are being formed, her blood is being constituted, his brain is being developed. To her we cannot say tomorrow. His name is today."

- Gabriela Mistral, Chilean poet, stateswoman, and teacher. She was the first Latin American to win the Nobel Prize in Literature, in 1945.

The children in kindergarten through second grade will be creating a poetry booklet to bring home to read over spring break.  The booklet will contain the poems that they have enjoyed for homework since January. The third grade students will also compile a booklet of the reading passages and poems that they have been reading. Even if your family is going on a trip, these booklets will be easy to bring along for some fun spring reading!

    HAPPY SPRING READING!!!
