Welcome to 5th grade!  This will be a year to remember!  Our 5th grade team has so many wonderful activities planned for our students!  Some hi-lites of the 5th grade are:  OurTrip to Mohican Outdoor School October 8-11, Halloween Party, Winter Holiday, Valentine's Party,  Getting Class T-shirts, Pi Day Celebration, Pool Party, Awards Program and much more.

 Each of us has an invisible bucket.  When our bucket is full, we feel great.  When it's empty, we feel awful.  Yet most children don't realize the importance of having a full bucket throughout the day!

Class Parties 
Our 5th grade class parties are done together as one grade level rather than 3 separate homerooms.  Mrs. Clark will be serving as the teacher liaison to the Parent Committee this school year.

    I am part of an amazing 5th grade team here at Memorial. I teach all of the 5th grade Math.  Mrs. Clark teaches all of the 5th grade Science and Social Studies.  Mr. Rounds teaches all of the 5th grade Reading and Language Arts. We work together to give our students the best possible academic experience.
     
    Every student has a student planner that is used daily to record assignments. This planner is a great way to stay on top of homework, class work, tests, and projects. Parents should check the agenda daily.
     
    Interventions are available daily for all students. At the end of every class students are asked to evaluate their understanding of the lesson. If a child does not have a good understanding they are expected to stay in for help at recess for intervention. Peer tutoring and one on one teacher help is available.

    Study Island
    Each 5th grader has a log in and password for Study Island.  Students will have a Study Island Assignment to complete weekly for math.  www.studyisland.com

    Every student has a log in name and password for Everyday Math Games.  Please go to
     www.everydaymathonline.com
    log in and then play all of the games from the unit we are studying.  I will be checking on line to see that every student is practicing!  HAVE FUN!
