Overview

Edwards Middle School is named after Miss Maude Edwards.  Miss Edwards was an administrator at Edwards Middle School from 1950 - 1968.  The western end of our school was built in 1921 and served both elementary and high school students.  Our building remained as Brunswick High School until 1968.  From 1921 - 1968 our buildiing was known as Brunswick High School.  In 1987 the name was changed to honor Miss Edwards.

Edwards Middle School serves about 500 students in grades 6, 7 and 8.  We have just over 50 staff members.

Edwards Middle School and Visintainer Middle School (next door) combine student bodies to participate in the Northeast Ohio Conference Middle School League as Brunswick South.  We compete in football, volleyball, cross country, basketball, wrestling, cheerleading and track and field.

We offer many clubs and organizations including Art Club, Drama Club, Student Council, Jr. National Honor Society, Jr. V.O.F.T., Girls Club, Jr. S.A.D.D., Jazz Band, Jazz Choir and intramurals.  We encourage all of our students to become active whether it is through athletcs, clubs or intramurals.  We know students that participate in activities outside of the classroom will be more successful in the classroom.
