The Capital Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps from Columbus, Ohio will be in residence at Brunswick High School from July 14 through 25. The corps, which is made up of approximately 100 brass, percussion and color guard performers from all over the eastern United States will travel throughout the United States this summer competing in Drum Corps International (DCI) competitions. While in Brunswick the corps will be staging a performance at Brunswick High School's Kirsch Field for area residents. More details are forthcoming on their stay.

The drum corps has been on a hiatus-last performing at the DCI World Championships in 2006. The corps marks its return this year, performing in Open Class with their 2009 production entitled "The Storm." The corps kicks off their season on Sunday, June 21 with a concert at Capital Regiment Centre. The corps first DCI show will take place on Monday, June 22 before returning to Dublin, Ohio on the 21st for their first Ohio competitive performance.

Mr. and Mrs. Wardeska are both affiliated with the Capital Regiment. Mr. Wardeska is serving as the brass caption head and staff coordinator for the corps, and Mrs. Wardeska is serving as a visual consultant for both the color guard and the entire corps. Sgt. Diefenbach, consultant for the Marching Blue Devils, serves as the corps' program coordinator. Recent Brunswick alumnus Rich Carlton is a member of the corps' contra section.
