Dear Choral Booster Families,

Many of you have participated in the Certificate Program at either the Junior High or Elementary level and have asked us to continue the program at the high school to build your family account and minimize your personal out of pocket expenses. The certificate program has been successfully helping families defray the out of pocket costs of student field trips at all three middle schools for the past several years and this past year was broaden to help with pay to participate and school fees. The beauty of the program is that it does not cost any additional money! Participating families are simply "trading" cash for certificates. The BHS Choral Boosters purchase the certificates at a reduced price and the difference is assigned to the family's account.

Please keep in mind that, accumulated funds in your family account may be applied to all other district fees charged to your child.

BHS Choral Booster Certificate Program Answers to frequently asked questions…

The certificates you purchase through the certificate program are identical to the certificates or gift cards you'd buy through each individual merchant and are redeemed exactly the same way as those you'd buy directly through the merchants themselves.

Profits from each certificate purchase that go towards your family's account does not reduce the value of certificates. You pay $25.00 for a full $25.00 certificate. The value is not reduced by the profit.

All chain merchant gift cards and certificates are honored at all their locations nationwide just as they would be if you purchased them from the merchant.

Purchases made through the BHS Choral Booster Certificate program do not have to be used as gifts. Use them for personal purchases as well.

Some department store gift cards, including JC Penney and Kohls may be used to pay off charge accounts. Others, such as Dillard's restrict this practice. It is recommended that you contact the department store directly to find out their individual policies.

When you place an order through the certificate program on Monday, your certificates will be available for pick up later that same week. Certificates will not be sent home with your child, unless a waiver of liability is signed releasing the BHS Choral Boosters and their representatives. They are treated just like cash and should they be lost or stolen they cannot be replaced.

Friends, family and co-workers are invited to make purchases through the certificate program, increasing your child's profits in his/her account.

Feel free to copy the order forms if additional forms are needed. (Some changes on the order forms do occur throughout the year so please use the most current version.)

In the event that a certificate you ordered is not available at the time of your order, you will receive a credit slip for the value of that certificate. Credit slips may be redeemed on a future order for the same merchant or applied towards the purchase of another type of certificate. Credits slips are not honored by merchants. They only apply to BHS Choral Booster Certificate orders. Profits will be applied to your family account once your credit has been redeemed.

This is not a door-to-door activity. It is designed to be a community service project to assist the families. 100% of the proceeds go towards student accounts. BHS Choral Boosters do not profit from this program, nor do their representatives.

With written notification, excess certificate profits may be transferred to a BHS Choral Booster sibling, family member, or designated to the BHS Choral Booster Scholarship account. In the event that excess funds in an account of a graduated student are not specifically designated, those excess funds will be transferred to the Scholarship account and applied towards the costs of those families that may not be in a financial position of paying for fees on their own.

By law, funds in any student account may only be applied to school related fees or costs and may not be dispersed in the form of cash.

The certificate program offers time saving, one-stop shopping.
