- B.S. in Ed. for Business Education, Youngstown State University, Graduated 2004
- Master's Degree in Classroom Instruction, Ashland University, Graduated August 2011
Upon my college graduation from Youngstown State University in June 2004, my husband and I relocated to the Cleveland area. Realizing my chances of getting right into a classroom were slim in June, I decided to gain some business experience to take to a classroom later on. I started as the office administrator of The Staffing Specialists, LLC, in Independence, OH. There I was responsible for various tasks, including bookkeeping, obtaining and filling job orders, interviewing and working with candidates, and other numerous office duties. Then in November 2005, I accepted a position as the human resources assistant at Hahn Loeser + Parks, LLP in Downtown Cleveland. My role involved handling all the benefits, bills, and payroll for a 220+ employee law firm, as well as co-organizing events such as the Harvest for Hunger campaign and the Sunshine Club.
In August 2007, I received a phone call out of the blue from Lakewood High School/West Shore Career Technical District for an interview for a teaching position. Seeing this as the opportunity to finally get into a classroom, I left the law firm and started a new career as the business management and business law teacher. After a year there I joined the Brunswick family where I now teach various courses in the Business Technology department. My time so far at BHS has been wonderful and well-accepted. I enjoy the students and my team members very much. Thank you for accepting me into the community!
