Memorial Elementary

Dedicated to Excellence

Miss Sword
A little about me...
I am so excited to be starting my second year at Memorial in Title 1! I love reading and helping to motivate students to read is something I am passionate about. I enjoy coming up with new ways of teaching reading in order to reach every student on their level. I use many resources and games to keep their interest and provide appropriate interventions. I look forward to working with parents this year and appreciate your support!
I attended John Carroll University and received my degree in Education with a Reading Endorsement. My previous experience includes 2 years in the Orange City School District as a second grade teacher. I have a large family and enjoy spending time with them since they all live nearby (my hometown of Olmsted Falls). I have always wanted to be a teacher and I enjoy getting to know all of my students!

    Halfway Through!

It's hard to believe we are already halfway through the school year! All of my students have ben working very hard to make progress the first two quarters. For the second half of the year, I look forward to pushing students towards even more success and motivation for reading!

Also, please be aware that starting in January with 2nd quarter report cards, you will have to log in to ProgressBook to check your student's grades. Title 1 will still be sending out paper progress reports as usual, as long with our next newsletter!
