Brunswick City School District performs vision and hearing screenings in accordance with the requirements established by the Ohio Department of Health.
Regular school screenings are an important method of identifying children with possible vision and/or hearing deficiencies. Early detection provides children the best opportunity to develop academically, emotionally and socially. Screening programs are not a diagnostic evaluation and will not detect all vision and/or hearing problems. A screening only provides a snapshot of how your child performs on the day the test was administered and is not a substitute for a complete physician evaluation.
Parents will be notified and referred for further evaluation if their child does not complete or pass any portion of the screenings. If assistance is needed finding a healthcare provider or information about financial aid resources, please contact your school nurse.
