Food for the Soul

by Pat Geschke and Dawn Allar on 2/28/2024
Length: 25 minutes

Can music nurture the hearts and hearts of our students? In Episode 2 of Stories of the Journey, "Food for the Soul," we explore this idea through the perspectives of two people passionate about BCSD's music program: BMS Band Director Gary Allen and his student Landon. They discuss how music's demand for perfection fosters critical thinking, one of the competencies of our Journey of a Blue Devil. They also discuss how music promotes resilience, self-confidence, and a love of band. Witness the transformative power of music in our educational community and see another example of how relationships drive all that we do in the Brunswick City School District.
