A Message from the Superintendent
While not the traditional start, I couldn't be more excited for the 2020-2021 school year! Even in a year as challenging as this one, there is so much to be excited for and proud of! This summer, the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators (OAESA) recognized Kati Mann (Memorial Elementary School) and Bonnie Kubec (Kidder Elementary School) as "Principal of the Year." OAESA also recognized Crestview Elementary School as a "Hall of Fame" school. This fall, the Auditor of State presented our Treasurer the prestigious Auditor of State Award. In addition, both Towslee Elementary School and Memorial Elementary School earned "Gold" from the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) State Support Team.
We are proud of the academic opportunities BCSD continues to provide our students. The brand new middle school provides spaces dedicated to collaborative learning where relationships between students and staff are nurtured and positively impact learning. Both middle school and high school students have the opportunity to participate in Project Lead The Way (PLTW). This out-of-the-box curriculum focuses on the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math. Students at all grade levels broaden their educational experience through art, music, and physical education classes. All of these opportunities will help prepare our students for the world ahead.
As we continue to navigate this truly unprecedented year, please know that we are committed to providing a quality education that prioritizes our students' and staffs' health and safety. We are always interested in hearing feedback from our community. Don't hesitate to contact us at 330-225-7731.
Go Big Blue!
