**Please note: the district has created safety plans that are specific for each school building. Details of those plans are not made public. Doing so would jeopardize the efficiency of the plan.**How We PrepareSafety Drills: Both students and staff are trained and practice safety drills several times throughout the year. This includes fire drills, lockdowns and evacuations. The district uses ALICE (Alert, Lowdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate) strategies.Staff Training: Each school year, all staff members are required to complete online training about various topics including bullying prevention, child abuse, student privacy rights, children with diabetes, fire safety, blood-borne pathogens and EpiPens.PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support): With the theme of PRIDE- Performance, Respect, Integrity, Determination and Effort, each building has incorporated PBIS through various activities and programs. This serves as a reminder that Brunswick is a place where all of our students and staff should feel appreciated, safe, respected and proud.School Resource Officers: School resource officers are officers of the Brunswick and Brunswick Hills Police Department who are assigned specifically to the school system. Read more about our school resources officers by clicking here.Photo ID Cards: All staff members are issued an ID card that provides access to their building.
