• Dear Crestview Parents and Students,

    I would like to extend a warm welcome as we prepare to begin the 2020-21 school year. I  am very excited to be starting my fifth year as the principal of Crestview Elementary School and look forward to meeting you and learning more about your child(ren). I believe that by working together we can provide a nurturing and supportive environment where students feel safe, accepted and successful. 

    An important step in creating a successful school and classroom environment for your child is to establish a strong partnership between the home and the school. Your presence, support, and involvement with your child’s teacher and the staff will have a positive impact on his/her learning experience.
    An important step that you can take to expand your involvement is to join our very active and supportive Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO). We also request that you take the time to visit our school website and follow us on Twitter and Facebook.  These internet resources are an excellent way to receive additional information on the different activities in your student's classroom and our school.
    Background Information:
    Prior to becoming the principal at Crestview Elementary School, I served as the assistant principal at Willetts Middle School.  Before joining the Brunswick City Schools staff, I served in the Berea City School District for fourteen years. During my years in Berea, I served as a sixth-grade science teacher, varsity girls basketball head coach, summer camp director and as the assistant principal at Big Creek Elementary School. I have three children ages, 9, 13, and 15. My hobbies include coaching girls basketball and softball, working out and spending lots of time taking my children to their extracurricular activities.

    To help get the school year off to a great start, please verify that your child’s SIF (Student Information Form) has been updated online at https://update.bcsoh.org.  If you need help or computer access, please contact the school office at 330-273-0482 to schedule an appointment.

    Prior to the first day of school, please spend time with your student to familiarize him/her with our school procedures and policies that you will find online (click here). Paper copies will be included in the front of your child's school agenda for grades 2 only (KG-1 do not use agenda planners, and grades 3-5 will be using Google Calendar for assignments.) You can also find the handbook on-line under Parent Resources or you can click here.

    As we work together, it will become clear that student safety is our top priority. Arrival and dismissal procedures are explained in detail in the student handbook and on the website's front page. All visitors to our school must show a valid Ohio ID and sign in and out in the school office.  To help your child get ready for school and feel confident as they walk through the front door, please encourage him/her to walk to class with an older sibling, friend or classmate.
