  • Calling all Readers!

Now that school is off for a few weeks, continue to review the sight words for your child's grade level with them.  If your child has mastered their grade level sight words, move on to the next grade level list to get a headstart on those words.  The word lists are found on the left side of this web site under the heading Word Lists & Fry Phrases.   You can view the lists or print them out.  There are also websites listed that your child could go to under Student Resources.  I encourage the kindergarten students to go on "Teach Your Monster To Read".  They can open a new account and it is free!!!  There are many different levels for the students to master before moving onto another.  Another web site I recommend is Starfall.com.  You can get that website through Student Resources on the left side of this web site.  It also has a first grade and second grade component.  Don't forget to read Charlie & the Chocolate Factory as a family and check my daily e-mails for other activities.  The most important thing is to keep reading!!!  Thank you for visiting this site and stay healthy!

Thank you to all the students and parents who attended our Huntington Literacy Night on Thursday, October 17th & March 5th.  The Huntington teachers appreciate you taking the time to attend and to learn different reading strategies to help your child improve his or her reading skills!

These nights were for parents and their children to come to Huntington with their child (or children) to learn more about our reading program.  We encourage all Huntington families to attend future Literacy Nights.
