Brunswick City School District’s Wellness Committee is sponsoring the Color Me Blue 5K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, May 4th, 2019. The creation of this new event is to promote wellness for our district while helping Brunswick families affected by illness, tragedy or other life-changing events.
This year’s race proceeds will benefit Collin, a fourth-grade student at Memorial Elementary School, who is battling medulloblastoma, a type of tumor that attacks the brain and often spreads to the spinal cord. The doctors have successfully removed the tumor in Collin’s brain and have treated the cancer in his spinal column with rounds of radiation. In December, Collin bravely began chemotherapy treatments that will continue through May 2019 in an effort to win his battle.
Our district and community rallies when it comes to helping each other in times of need. We are hoping for a huge turnout from our district, their families and the community. Please consider participating in this new event. You do not need to run or walk to participate.
