BHS ranked 96th on the U.S. News and World Report Best High Schools list

Brunswick High School is among the top Ohio Public High Schools included in the U.S News and World Report Best High Schools list. Brunswick ranked 96th in the state earning the high school a silver medal award. The U.S. News rankings include data on more than 22,000 public schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia. Schools were awarded based on their performance on state assessments and how well they prepare students for college.

Schools were evaluated using a four-step process:

Step 1: Overall performance of students on state tests
Step 2: Identify high schools that performed at or better than the state average for their least advantaged students
Step 3: Identify schools that have surpassed a basic standard for high school graduation rates
Step 4:  Performance on college-level AP exams to determine national gold, silver and bronze medal winners

Those districts that received gold and silver distinctions – include the top-performing high schools, which are schools that met all four steps above. These schools have been divided into gold and silver groups based on their College Readiness Index value, which measures the degree to which students are exposed to and pass some college-level material while in high school.
